Doctor" is Jan McBarron, M.D., a board certified medical
doctor with a thriving practice near Atlanta. She was born in Philadelphia
where she became a nurse and then a doctor. She received her M.D. from
Hahnemann University in Philadelphia and completed a medical-surgical
internship.
A specialist in weight loss and preventive medicine, Dr. McBarron has
a private medical practice in Columbus, Georgia. Georgia Bariatrics
specializes in weight loss and preventive medicine through the use of
vitamins and herbal remedies. Dr. McBarron urges her patients to avoid
prescription medications in favor of vitamins, natural herbs and supplements
whenever possible.
Dr. McBarron is happily married to Duke Liberatore. Duke is the owner
of Peachtree Natural Foods, voted "The
Best New Natural Food Store in the Country" by Health
Foods Business Magazine. Together they form a dynamic couple. Together
they host "Duke and the Doctor, which airs in more than 150 markets
nationwide! Since 1998, Talkers Magazine awarded them in "The
Top 100 Most Important Radio Hosts in America" among more
than 4,300 shows.
Dr. McBarron is the author of three best selling books including, Flavor
Without Fat, The Columbus Nutrition Program
and Being a Woman Naturally - Dr. Jan McBarron's Guide to Natural
Supplements Beyond 25 and has been featured in Time,
U.S. News & World Report, Readers' Digest, Sports
Illustrated, Women's World and Fitness magazines.

copies and has been featured in Good Housekeeping, Better

Dr. McBarron is a member of the American Medical Association and the
American Society of Bariatric Physicians. She also served as the Nutritional
Consultant for the 1996 United States Olympic Team.
